Following the release of the Embermen Five´s Fire In Our Hearts LP and CD, Break-A-Way presents two more outstanding North Dakota '60s bands: The Trenchmen from Minot and Dickinson's Lost Souls. The Trenchmen put out only one 45 during their three-year existence, while the Lost Souls managed to double that output within the same timespan. now one of the rarest recordings from the area, and belatedly recognised as one of the best. The Lost Souls' debut also floundered, but their second platter Artificial Rose b/w Sad Little Girl, became a tremendous local success and got picked up by Liberty Records for national release. Both bands searched for fame and fortune in the '60s with their music. Ultimately, both met with little more than a steady regional reputation before returning to "real life" at the end of the road. The Trenchmen and the Lost Souls finally meet again on this latest release from Break-A-Way Records. |
